(As Told By Santa)
The (As Told by Santa) Story
One year, when I was much younger, I went on my annual visit to see Santa Claus very late in the day. For whatever reason, there were no people waiting in line and I got to sit on his lap for a very long time. We talked about so many things that day, from family to friends, from school to sports, from pets to vacations, and just about anything else I could think of. Oh, yes, also about what I wanted for Christmas.
When I asked him what he wanted, he laughed and told me he got everything he wanted every year, but really would like to tell people some of his stories. I asked what kind of stories he had to tell and he began telling them right then and there, one right after the next. I listened very carefully and tried to remember each word, in each story, as he told me. That night his stories just kept racing through my head , over and over and over. And then I waited, for years, hoping to hear them once more, but never did. Every year we went to see him, the lines seemed longer and longer and each time I asked him if he could please just tell me one of his stories, he just smiled and pointed to the line of people waiting and asked me if it would be be nice to make all those people wait while he told me stories.
Well, I finally realized just how fortunate I had been that day and decided to share his stories with everybody, so here is the first, My Reindeer (As Told by Santa). I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. And maybe someday, you’ll visit Santa and there won’t be a line of people waiting to see him.
